Club Update – Thursday, 2nd July
As we move through the easing of restrictions, we are slowly working through changes to our promotions and Club operations. On arrival to the Club, we will obtain member numbers or contact details for each person coming into the Club for required contact tracing. Temperatures will no longer be taken however we do request if are unwell or showing signs of COVID-19, please stay home.
Our opening hours have changed as of today:
Monday 10am to 11pm
Tuesday 10am to 11pm
Wednesday 10am to 11pm
Thursday 10am to 11pm
Friday 9am to 2am
Saturday 10am to 2am
Sunday 10am to 11pm
Westpac Rescue Helicopter Cash Housie will return weekly from Wednesday 15th July.
Club Bingo will still be held on Wednesday 8th July with $400 in Coles vouchers to be won.
Kids eat free returns from Monday 6th July for dinner only. Up to 2 children will can eat free with 1 main meal is purchased. Members only ($5 memberships available).

New promotions have started with our Tooheys Grand Prize draw Sundays at 4pm. $6000 Charlestown Square has also commenced with etnry tickets received for every $10 spend at the bistro.

NOTICE TO MEMBERS UNDER CLAUSE 4(5) OF THE REGISTERED CLUBS REGULATION 2015
On 12 May 2020, by way of ClubsNSW Circular 20-064, Charlestown Bowling Club Limited ABN 38 609 055 155 (Club) called for expressions of interests from other registered clubs, with a view to exploring the possibility of an amalgamation.
In the previous 12 months, the Club has received an expression of interest from:
- Lambton Bowling Club;
- Aberdeen Bowling Club;
- Maitland Park Bowling Club;
- Stockton Bowling Club; and
- Kahibah Bowling Club.
The Club intends to sign a Memorandum of Understanding, with a view to amalgamating, with Lambton Bowling Club.
Details of the proposed amalgamation will be given to members in accordance with the Registered Clubs Act 1976 (NSW) and Registered Clubs Regulation 2015 (NSW).
The proposed amalgamation will be subject to various conditions being satisfied, including the approval of members of each club.

Q What sections of the club will be open to members and guests?
A The whole club will be open including the bistro, poker machines, bars and TAB.
Q How many people are allowed in the club at one time?
A We have a limit of 350 people in the club at one time. All subject to social distancing guidelines.
Q Can everyone come to the Club from 1st June?
A Initially the Club will be open for members only. Therefore, if you are a member bringing a guest to the Club, your guest will need to join the Club. Membership entitles you to receive discounts at the bar, bistro and entry into promotions.
Q How do I join the Club?
A Please bring photo ID with you to the Club and see reception on arrival. All memberships are $5.
Q Can I renew my membership?
A Membership renewals are available from 1st June. We have extended membership renewals until 30th September. Current member points can be used up until 30th September. You can now renew online at www.clubcharlestown.com.au OR in person OR over the phone 49433766. Bowls memberships are asked to wait until the pricing is set by the governing authorities.
Q How will you monitor the number of people in the club?
A We will have a COVID safe marshal that will monitor safe social distancing, numbers and cleaning/hygiene procedures. The marshal will be identifiable in the high vis vest and can be approached with any questions or concerns you may have. We will be counting the total number of people in the Club on arrival and when people exit. The different areas of the Club have been set up with the correct number of chairs for that area, therefore if all seats are taken that area is at maximum capacity. A contact tracing register will be maintained which will have each guests name, phone number and temperature on arrival to the Club. This contact tracing register is required by NSW Health and will be kept for minimum 28 days.
Q What if I go to the club and it is already at capacity?
A You will not be allowed to enter. We do not want to be turning people away so we encourage you to call ahead to check on the number of people in the club. That way you will not be disappointed when you can’t come in.
Q Can we gather in standing groups?
A No. Everyone will need to be seated. You can go to the bar to buy drinks but then you need to take them back to your table. We will also be providing table service in the bistro and lounge, EFTPOS or pay by points will be the method of payment for table service.
Q Do we need to make a booking for lunch or dinner?
A Yes, bookings are recommended and can be made under the following conditions:
- Bookings are limited to groups of maximum 10 people sitting together.
- No split bills. Payment is required at the time of ordering at the table.
- Only one person from your group will be able to go to the bar to place your drinks order or order from our new table service of drinks.
- We will have floor stickers throughout the club to help you maintain the appropriate safe social distance.
Q What hours will the Club be open?
A Club opening hours will be 10am until 10pm 7 days
Bistro lunch from 11:30am to 2pm; Bistro dinner 5:30pm until 8pm
Coffee shop from 10am to 2pm & 5pm to 8pm. Coffee will be available from the bar in the afternoon.
Q Will we be able to order and collect takeaway?
A Yes we will still have take away lunch & dinner available, please call 4943 3766 to order. Take away times are 11:30am until 2pm and 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
Q Do we still accept cash?
A Yes, however cashless payments are preferred in the form of EFTPOS or member points. We can load cash onto your members card. We have removed the credit card surcharge.
Q Will you have your weekly members draw raffles and bingo?
A We will continue with our popular online raffles on Friday nights at 6pm. This raffle link is available on our Club Facebook page. We will introduce more raffles and bingo when it is deemed safe to do so, more information will be released on this when it is confirmed.
Q Will all your poker machines be on?
A Yes all machines will be on however social distancing rules will apply.
Q What hygiene and sanitisation measures do you have in place?
A Our staff will be cleaning and sanitising club surfaces regularly and we ask the following from our members and guests:
- Please sanitise your hands when you enter the club using our sanitisation stations.
- If you are unwell or have come into contact with someone who has tested positive to coronavirus please do not come into the club.
